Description
This tea towel shows three images in and around Helmsdale. The vertical image of the clock tower is also the village war memorial. The Top right image is the Emigrants Statue, unveiled in 2007 It commemorates the people of the Highlands and Islands who, in the face of great adversity, sought freedom, hope and justice beyond these shores. (As a result of the Highland Clearances) The man and child at the front are looking forward to new horizons, the old lady at the rear is taking a last look at the place she grew up and lived in. The bottom right is one of the many small streams that feed into the river that runs through Helmsdale.
The Tea towel is 100% cotton and made in Scotland.
